A Girl’s Diary to Get Through Day One of the Lemon Detox Diet

by admin on March 21, 2010

So today is probably the hardest day of all. All my past attempts at the Lemon Detox have miserably failed… but I am quite determined to fabricate this work this time! And this is how I am going to get through day one, the hardest day of all I believe (and have heard others say).

First of all, your mind must be in the right place. What I mean by that is that you have to be doing this diet for the just reasons. If you seek information from to fit into your jeans that are twenty years old by the end of this week, you can honest about forget it. It’s true that you will lose pounds on this diet, but you don’t want to be thinking that you will completely be transformed by the end of the week. The stuff they tell you about it being a detoxification diet and not a weight loss plan is true… but you cannot squawk the major, most appealing side effect: that you will lose weight! However…. we must reach to our senses here… This diet is simply the bottom step to a lifelong staircase of good habits. It’s just really great to get past that first step.

So once you’ve got your mind in the right place, that you’re really doing this diet for a life of betterment and not a quick fix for a special weekend followed by returning to your old lifestyle, you are almost good to go. But wait a minute: we’ve got to prepare ourself for the down and dirty!!!

That is: I will not be eating for the next five days!!! Ahh! No fear… the lemon drink is supposed to hold me over. And I am supposed to recognize real results if I can impartial get past this first day. That’s all I really need to do, is earn past this first day. After this, it’s supposed to be much easier for the rest of the week. So what will I do? Too bad I can’t employ the power of prayer on this one… I mean, I could.. but it just doesn’t feel right to turn to Jehovah every two minutes for something that is actually quite selfish: improving my body and body image! However, I will definitely talk to Him about my plans and goal in my prayer tonight.

So getting through day one is a challenge… but thankfully I do plan on allowing my body time and space to rest today. Thankfully, today is my day off of work and so if I feel sick or sleepy at all then I have the allowance to go lay down in my own bed. The downside of having work off? More chance me mind will bolt… to.. food. But I will work this one out… Work on my self control!!!

So what do I plan on doing when my body does sound the alarm for food? I concept on… let’s see… here are some ideas… take a nap, stare a movie, write a tale, do some cleaning, organize my closet (which reminds me, many people who have been successful with this diet have told me that they go into a “cleaning frenzy” when on the diet… so maybe that’s my ticket to keep my mind active and off of food)…

Coincidentally, day one of my lemon detox diet includes a night-time finale of a special meeting I am going to be attending. So maybe that is another motivation to finish out the day so as to feel great tonight!! If I am feeling great! I will let you know tomorrow. Til then, may this day go well for me.

So I have lots of lemon juice on hand, lots of cayenne, lots of real maple syrup… I am ready to go… OH and yes, I have sea salt, too. Yuck!! I love the results of the sea salt cleanse, it’s just I can’t enjoy the taste of the stuff! Unprejudiced thinking about it makes me want to vomit. Oh well… it’s part of this, so I will succeed. I promise myself. Perhaps this morning I shall try adding some lemon juice to my sea salt cleanse.
